“Why did you come back here?” “Why did you let me in?” “But
why did you come here?” “Again, why did you let me in?” The conversation was a
bunch of questions bouncing back and forth between them. She looked up at him,
for he was quite tall. Her eyes were rolling back and seemed to say, “For the
love of God, just spit it out!” Mark knew that look very well. The look was the
same one she had given him many times over the years of their off and on
romance. He looked back at her with a sly smile that seemed to say “I will play
that game.” She also knew that mischievous look very well.
“Do you really want to know why I came back to see you?”
“For heaven’s sake, yes, I do! Why would I ask you if I really didn’t want to
know?”
“I don’t know. Woman can be fickle creatures who say one
thing and mean another,” he said with his sarcastic witty smile, meant to make
her angry. Mark always liked it when Tabitha got angry. He liked the way her
eyes lit up—it was very sexy for him. He really missed her fiery temper that
was so easily soothed over with his touch and presence. She was like a
tempestuous sea that quickly quieted into a tranquil pond.
“Well, I am not that kind of woman. I do not like to play
games or mess around.”
He eyed her up and down and smirked with the memory of all
the time they had messed around together. “I wouldn’t exactly say that,” he
said laughingly.
She gave him a look. “Hey!” Tabitha said. “Get to the point.
Why did you come here?”
“You know why I came here,” he paused for a second, “I came
here for you!”
“For me?”
“Yes, for you, why else would I come? I miss you!” His eyes
were now smoldering and she couldn’t help but look at his perfect lips. Without
knowing it, she was staring and getting a stirring feeling deep down inside of
her. She shook her head in effort to
shake off the feeling.
“I wish you hadn’t come here. Not now, not ever! I don’t
want you here or need you here!” He was unconvinced by her pretty little
speech. “Tabby, you don’t know what you are saying!” And with that she blew up
at him!
“Don’t call me Tabby. I have always hated that name! You don’t get to
call me that! EVER!”
“You are so sweet and I miss my lips lingering on your skin,
mouth and … hmmm…” “Stop that!” “Don’t you miss it, sweet Tabby?”
“No,” she said, unconvinced herself. He moved closer to her.
She could feel his body heat near her. She looked at his strong, wiry arms,
with the veins gently popping out. His darker skin had always been a turn on
for her. She loved the smell of his skin and it was an aphrodisiac for her. “Tabby,
you shouldn’t say such things you know to not be true. You still love me, want
me, I can tell.”
Tabitha shook her head as he reached for her face. His warm hand
gentled pressed the side of her face and held it. Without thinking her face
softened into his hand. She lost her hardened expression and her lips parted
automatically in response to him, his touch. She looked up at him. Without
noticing, he had his other arm around her waist with his fingers under her
shirt. The sensation was wonderful. She looked into his eyes, then at his lips,
then back at his eyes. His lustful lips yearned for hers. They met and melded
together. It was wonderful for her. It
was wonderful for him. His hand dropped from her face to her breast. It
smoothed over it lightly then dropped further to her hips and then around to
her rump. She was in a spell with no escape. She hadn’t realized how badly she
had missed him or how she missed the response her body gave to his touch.
“I know you missed me, too,” he whispered in her ear. “Yes,”
she said breathlessly. He pushed her
backwards into the wall. She gently hit the wall and he pressed against her
even more. She would feel him rising. It gave her a chill and a rush. She
pushed her mouth further into his. Her tongue traced his lips and then fell
warm and hot into his cool mouth. Mark gripped Tabitha tighter. His knuckles
turned white. She felt him press up against her even harder. It was too much
and she attacked him. Her hands shot up through his shirt to feel her hands
against his back. That sent shivers down his spine and beyond. She scratched
his back with both hands and her hands ended around his waist. She could feel
his belt and how it fit tightly around his slim waist. Her mind went around and
undid his pants and reached into the front of his pants. The minute she was
brought back to earth and realized where this was going, she stopped suddenly
and looked at him. His eyes were closed tightly.
Tabitha suddenly stopped and her arms fell to her side. She
knew what her body wanted to do, but her mind kicked into high gear. ‘I shouldn’t
be doing this!”
Mark noticed that her passion level had changed. He opened
his eyes. “Mark,” she said, “I don’t think this is what we should be doing?” He
was surprised and then again not surprised. “Why?” he whispered, “but it feels
so right. Doesn’t it feel good for you?”
“Yes, it does!” she let out, “but I can’t do this right now.
So much is happening with me right now.” She pulled a little ways from him, but
he still held her in his arms. For her, he was still really close to her.
“Tabby, what is it? What has been going on? What has happened since I left? Did
someone hurt you? Is there another guy? Where does he live? Tell me!”
“Mark, settle down. I am fine and no one has done something
to me.”
“Does it have to do with why you have a girl here with you?
Is she living with you?”
“Yes, it has everything to do with that little girl. Her
mother, my friend from my childhood, Olivia died over a week ago. In her will,
I am named as the guardian and godmother. She is living with me now.”
“Oh,” he sighed, “That is a lot to take in. Is there
anything I can do to help?”
“Not really. I do get lonely and sad now that my friend is
gone. Her daughter reminds me of my dear, departed friend. That is hard.” Her
attitude suddenly shifted and she blurted out, “Why the hell I am telling you
all of this??” Her eyes went wide and she sunk into her thoughts. She spun
around from out from under her. He looked at her. She pulled free from him. Her body was shaking; he wasn’t sure if it was
from rage or fear. Mark moved closer to her and again she pulled farther away
from him. He just looked at her again.
“Tabby,” he implored. She put up her hand to say “don’t call
me that, just don’t!”
“Tabby, “ he whispered softly, almost inaudibly. She
collapsed onto the floor and he ran to catch her. He caught her body just
before it hit the floor. She fell melancholy, so she fells slowly. “Tabby,” he
said. He put his hands to her warm cheek. Her hands were sprawled out in either
direction from her body. Her eyes were closed and looked weary underneath. Suddenly she looked ill. He brushed the hair
from her eyes. He now had a concerned look on his face. Everything had happened
so fast. One minute they were making out and the next she has fallen down to
the ground. She had looked to strong,
blossoming, and then weak and wilting. He didn’t get it, but he got concerned.
Tabitha opened her eyes and saw him weakly. She gathered her
hands from the floor and reached up to him—to his face. He leaned down to kiss
her again. He was bent over kissing her. “I
love you!” she said. He was speechless. He knew she loved him, but he
didn’t expect her to say it. I felt good to his eardrums. He felt a warm rush
of love which was greater than his lust. He formed his mouth to return her
treatise, but his voice box was constrained.
She strained her neck up a little to kiss him again. What a
sight they were on the floor. He pressed his mouth hard against her. She got
tired from staining her neck and fell back into his lap. “Carry me to my bed,”
she implored him. “Okay, if you say so,” smiled his voice. Her head fell back
and his deafly picked her up. Once standing she positioned her head to lie on
his chest. Tabitha could hear Mark’s heart beat. It was comforting. “Oh, God, I
didn’t realize how lonely I was,” she told herself.
He carried her up the stairs holding onto on side of the
railing. Each step echoed through the house. Desmin’s door was closed and he
followed the adjoining all to the master suite, Tabitha’s room. He lay her down
on her red silk bed. Mark then carefully
lay behind her, spooning her. Tabitha moaned and reached back to his
hand and brought them around her waist. It felt great. She gave in and there
the two of them lay. Tabitha easily fell deeper into sleep, feeling the hot
breathe of her lover behind her. Mark stayed awake longer tracing the shape of
her body: her hips, thighs, stomach, breasts, neck. Then he settled his arms
around her waist again and fell asleep beside her. Before he drifted off
completely, he whispered, “I love you, my little angry angel” smiling into the
night. A night full of dreams of the two of them danced around above them.
